“shut up & listen" began in 2016 as a weekly radio show on KCSB 91.9 FM, an independent college/community radio station in Santa Barbara, CA. It aired live every week from June 2016 - January 2019, with 2 hours of indie music, live performances from bands in the LA area, and awkward commentary from myself.

In 2017, it evolved into a music blog that paired with the radio show— the remnants of which can be found on the “2017-2019 archive” page.

In 2018, “shut up & listen” also became a concert booking alias for DIY shows booked in California and across the country.

In 2019, I graduated college and “shut up & listen” had its last live radio show on KCSB FM.

Life happened.

2025. I post every so often. Who knows what I’m doing but my thoughts and photos and playlists should live somewhere. I also post about my 90s music collection on Instagram under the same name.

P.S. The name comes from Lilly Moscovitz’s cable TV show in the best film of all time, The Princess Diaries.
